Novitec Ferrari 296 GTS N-Largo
Making an exotic car like the Ferrari 296 GTS even more thrilling has been the world-renowned specialty of NOVITEC for decades. In the new NOVITEC N-LARGO, the German automotive refinement specialist now presents a limited edition of the open-top sportscar. The body conversion kit is produced from carbon and complemented by NOVITEC NF11 NL high-tech wheels. These rims are produced by US manufacturer Vossen specifically for this powerful car. The choice of 21-inch wheels at the front and 22-inch wheels on the rear axle puts even greateremphasis on the wedge shape of the mid-engine sportscar. A NOVITEC upgrade for the twin-turbo V6 combustion engine increases the system output to a maximum of 638 kW / 868 hp. The NOVITEC N-LARGO concept is also available for the fixed-roof variant of this Ferrari model series, the 296 GTB. The new NOVITEC N-LARGO widebody version was sculpted by German designer Vittorio Strosek. He created a thrilling designer outfit that makes the two-seater an impressive 208 centimeters wide, surpassing the production car by 12 centimeters. What is more: The NOVITEC body conversion kit received its aerodynamic finishing touches in the wind tunnel and consequently also offers outstanding aerodynamic efficiency. All components of this conversion kit are produced from carbon to achieve an optimal blend of lightweight construction and strength. The N-LARGO front fascia gives the sportscar an even more aggressive appearance from the front. In concert with the exposed-structure carbon lip spoiler it further reduces front-axle lift, which in particular benefits high-speed directional stability. Moreover, the new front ensures prefect transitions to the N-Largo fenders, which are three centimeters wider than the production fenders. The NOVITEC frunk lid with integrated air ducts plays an equally important role in the furtherenhanced handling stability. It translates the airflow into front-axle downforce. In order to realize full-blooded racing looks, the Spider pictured here is fitted with the optionally available version made from exposed-structure carbon. The N-LARGO front fenders feature three gill-shaped ventilation slots in their topside and discharge the heat from the brakes. Furthermore, they create space for the NOVITEC N-LARGO NF11 9.5Jx21 wheels fitted with high-performance tires of size 255/30 ZR 21. The five-spoke alloys are produced by Vossen using state-of-the-art forging technology and CNCmachining. They offer vehicle owners a choice of various surface finishes and 72 colors. The N-LARGO rocker panels were shaped to create perfect transitions to the thrillingly styled NOVITEC fender flares at the rear axle. They make the 296 with removable roof 12 centimeters wider than the production car. The integrated ventilation openings supply the engine with fresh air and use the airflow to optimize cooling of the rear brakes to boot. The larger wheel wells are fitted with special wheel arch liners and provide space for the NOVITEC NF11 NL wheels of size 12.5Jx22 likewise custom-made for this widebody version. They carry high-performance tires of size 335/25 ZR 22. The combination of NOVITEC diffuser and ducktail rear spoiler, both made from exposed-structure carbon, lends the powerful sportscar a particularly spectacular appearance from the rear. It also plays a crucial role in the aerodynamics concept, which is geared to producingdownforce. As an alternative, the N-LARGO can also be equipped with a rear wing. The sporty NOVITEC appearance package can be rounded off optimally with further racing-look features such as the NOVITEC exposed-structure carbon side mirrors complete with the matching trim for the quarter glass at the doors.
Another perfect fit for the spectacular NOVITEC look is the ride-height lowering by about 35 millimeters, effected by sports springs calibrated to harmonize with the production shocks. An optionally available front lift system makes it possible to raise the front end by 40 millimeters at the touch of a button in order to be able to navigate speed bumps or ramps in parking structures more easily. The front end drops back down to its original position at a second touch of the button or automatically from a speed of 80 km/h. NOVITEC also offers professional modifications of the details of the six-cylinder twin-turbo ICE of the Ferrari 296. In order to improve the gas exchange of the engine and thus unleash hidden extra power, NOVITEC developed flow-optimized turbo inlets, 100-cell metal catalysts, and NOVITEC high-performance exhaust systems, which are available in different versions. The installation of this combination increases the output of the V6 engine by 38 horsepower, resulting in a new system output of the hybrid drive of 638 kW / 868 hp. The NOVITEC sports exhaust can be identified visually by the two tailpipes integrated into the rear end and fitted with tailor-made wire mesh inserts. The exhaust is made from stainless steel or the especially light high-tech alloy INCONEL, which is also used in Formula 1 racing. The tailpipes can be optionally embellished with a carbon ring. The version with actively controlled butterfly valves enables the driver to alter the exhaust note between subtle and decidedly sporty. All exhaust systems are wrapped with high-temperature insulation that optimizes the thermal conditions in the engine bay. The INCONEL version is optionally available with visually particularly exclusive 999 fine gold plating, which further intensifies this effect.
